Terms of sale and use.
Carvect Pro is published by SMEPoint LLC. These terms cover buying it, and using it once you have.

Who you are dealing with
Carvect Pro is made and published by SMEPoint LLC ("we", "us").
Payment is taken by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the merchant of record for the sale. That means Paddle is the seller named on your receipt, Paddle collects and remits any sales tax or VAT due, and Paddle's own terms apply to the payment itself. What you are buying, and how the software behaves once you have it, is what the rest of this page describes.
What a license is
A license is perpetual: the version you buy keeps working, and we cannot switch it off because a subscription lapsed. It includes one year of updates from the date of purchase. Letting that window end stops new releases; it does not take away the release you paid for.
One license installs on up to 2 computers at a time, and drives as many CNC machines as you own. You can see which two in the application under Help ▸ Account & License, and release either of them yourself — a replaced shop PC is not a support ticket.
The license belongs to the account that bought it. A key on its own is not a bearer token: redeeming a key on another account is refused, which is enforced on our server rather than in the application.
You may use it for commercial work. Parts you cut, G-code you generate and files you make are yours entirely — we claim nothing in them.
What you may not do
Share, resell or publish the license key; run it on more computers than the license covers by working around the seat limit; or remove the license check.
The application is compiled, and reverse-engineering it is not permitted — except where the law gives you that right anyway, and except for the Qt libraries it links, which are covered by the LGPL and which you are explicitly entitled to replace with your own build. The steps for doing that are on our licenses page, because a right nobody can exercise is not a right.
The trial
The trial has no time limit. It is limited by one thing only: it does not write G-code. Everything else — drawing, importing, 3D models, relief, every toolpath strategy, the simulation, saving and reopening jobs — works exactly as it does in the paid product, so that what you evaluate is the product.
The license check, and what happens if we are not here
Carvect Pro checks your license on your own computer, against a key built into the application. It does not ask us for permission to start, it does not stop working when our server is unreachable, and it will not stop working if SMEPoint LLC one day stops existing. Perpetual means perpetual, and a license that needed us to stay alive would not be.
We are needed twice, and only twice: to issue a license for a computer — which is what activating does, and what takes one of your 2 seats — and to move a seat from one computer to another.
A computer that is never on a network is still one we support. The application shows it a computer id; your account page turns that id into a license file to copy or download; you carry it across on a USB stick and paste it in. No connection is involved at any point on that computer.
What activation sends is described on the privacy page. It is not a report on what you are machining.
What we do not promise
Carvect Pro generates toolpaths. You are responsible for what your machine does. Check the toolpath, check the simulation, and check the G-code on your own controller before cutting. CNC machines break tools, ruin material and injure people, and no CAM software — ours or anyone's — can be the last check before a spindle turns.
The software is provided as it is, without a warranty that it is fit for any particular purpose or free of defects. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid for the license. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes, and ending
We may change these terms for future purchases. The terms you bought under are the ones on this page on the day you bought, and the date above is how you tell. We will not reach back and change what an existing license is.
If you break the licensing terms above we may revoke the license. Short of that, it is yours.
